Great article over at Cyclingtips about all the bikes being ridden next year. Great new bike eye candy.

With my friends bike build slowly but surely coming along, I figured I’d post up some inspiration to finish off the necessary purchases to get the job done. This was posted today on reddit and thought it looked amazing.
What bar tape colour do you prefer? Probably depends a lot on your bike frame right?
Well the new build up has it’s fork in place and we’re looking at colouring the bars. I think yellow would be sharp with the carbon black frame, but white would also look good – and a dirty white (After use) always looks pretty ragged edge. That along with maybe some white wall tires. mmmmm.
Have some suggestions – post up in the comments ! It’s easy to do !
The pump has arrived. I haven’t had a chance to use it … as we’ve been having less than ideal weather and I’m still without proper cold weather attire. But the pump has arrived! I’ve heard nothing but good things about the Joe Blow’s aside from maybe a bit of finickiness with shorter presta valves
I’m sure you’re all on the edge of your seats awaiting to hear how well this thing blows! I’ll report back as soon as possible!
Not a bad crash really. Looks like everyone walked away. This motion GOPRO footage sure does help find the cause though.
Really?
Guess it’s a step in between going to disc brakes and just regular cable driven calipers. Pretty funky.

Stumbling through Youtube is a past-time of many of anyone on the internets these days. I ran across this while watching some Tom Boonen clips yesterday and found it very interesting to see how a Carbon Wheel is made. Sounds like it takes about 8 hours from beginning to end to make one wheel and is a fairly manual process – which when combined with the material they’re using, certainly explains the high costs of the wheels.
Why Carbon wheels you might ask? Carbon is an amazing material that is very strong, and extremely light. Perfect for the road bike racer.
Just received my new Garmin 310XT. I did a fair amount of research into what would suit me best and while I would have prefered the slightly larger screen of the Edge 500, the 310XT doubles as a good running watch should the need arise. It comes with the nice soft-strap HRM (heart rate monitor), and I received the GSC10 speed/cadence monitor & quick release kit as well.
I’ll get a review out shortly once I’ve put it through the tests. For now though that’ll likely just be on the trainer indoors as it’s wet and freezing outside.
The BBC put this video out just recently. Reviews the 2012 Tour de France through all the stages, some of the training and home life of a very introverted individual. Interesting insight into the life of a TDF winner.
